An experienced Consultant Spine Surgeon and Honorary Professor, working at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, UK since 2009 – an internationally renowned centre of excellence for spinal surgery and the largest teaching institution for spinal surgery in Europe; serving as Director of the Spinal Research Programme and Clinical Audit Lead.  

Previously Consultant at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre/John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK. Gained extensive experience during a combined Spinal Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic AO Spine Fellowship in Toronto, Canada; awarded the Norman Capner Fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons to train at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, USA, as well as five years as a Higher Surgical Trainee in the Cambridge/East Anglia region, UK. 

Proven track record in all aspects of spinal surgery, with particular interests in spinal oncology, spinal deformity and minimally invasive surgery, and possessing particularly strong planning, managerial and teamwork skills. 

Furthermore, an award-winning international presenter, winner of the prestigious Scoliosis Research Society Travelling Fellowship to the USA (2014), author of over 130 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and platinum faculty member of AO Spine. Whilst training as a surgeon, undertook a Master of Laws (2009), with an Honours thesis on ‘Clinical Negligence and the Spine Surgeon,’ and during consultancy, a PhD thesis (2019) on ‘Outcome & Health Related Quality of Life Following Surgery in Spinal Metastases.’ Furthermore, recently completed an Executive MBA in Healthcare from the University of Nottingham Business School (2025) awarded with Distinction.
